THERAPY + POLYAMORY

Therapy + Polyamory is a two-hour workshop designed for therapists, social workers, and other healing professionals who want to grow their understanding of polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, open relationships, and relationship anarchy. In this training, participants will learn about terminology they are likely to encounter when working with non-monogamous clients, the mental health issues facing this population, and therapeutic techniques for resolving these issues.

Learning Objectives

Following this course, you will:

  1. Understand the basic concepts and relationship structures related to polyamory and non-monogamy as well as terminology clinicians are likely to encounter with working with polyamorous clients.

  2. Feel more able to address and correct common misconceptions about a non-monogamous lifestyle, and better understand the impact of stigma on non-monogamous communities.

  3. Gain clarity around the benefits and motivations behind non-monogamy as well as the mental health issues facing this demographic.

  4. Offer an overview of therapeutic techniques that have been shown to be effective in working with issues facing this population, as well as a pamphlet of educational resources clinicians can refer back to and/or offer to clients.
