Mental health is political. Click to read a message from our founder, Chelsea Harvey Garner.
OUR MISSION
Collectively, we’re facing a mental health crisis. At Big Feels Lab, we believe individual treatment is not enough — to achieve lasting change, we must come together to address the social factors that inhibit wellness in the first place and create a culture where mental health is accessible to all.
Our mission is to produce resources that meet the mental health needs of diverse, underserved populations, and to provide training to clinicians and organizations so they may feel prepared to offer competent, trauma-informed care to vulnerable communities and the public.
WHO WE SERVE
Individuals whose mental health has been compromised by trauma, lack of access to resources, and systemic injustice,
therapists and healthcare providers who offer direct services to members of vulnerable communities, and
organizations who want to create trauma-informed workplaces and practices in their service to the public.
VISION
In 2023, our goals are to:
facilitate low-cost peer support groups
lead bi-monthly workshops for healthcare providers
offer monthly trainings on trauma-informed care to organizations
present a free speaker series
